Track Primary and sub-domain separately

Description

The Multiple First-Party Cookies radio button omits the domain attribute for the Webtrends First Party Cookie (FPC). Omitting the domain attribute creates an FPC to be created on the primary domain and all subdomains. As a result, a separate visitor id (WT.co_f) is created on the primary domain and on all subdomains.

See cookie domain attribute for more information.

Example

For example, suppose you omitted the cookie domain attribute and viewed the following two pages:

  1. www.webtrends.com/products.aspx
  2. ondemand.webtrends.com/login.asp

The first page view is considered a new visitor (WT.vt_f=1), and the FPC is set on the webtrends.com domain. The second page view is also considered a new visitor (WT.vt_f=1) and another FPC is set on the ondemand.webtrends.com domain.
